An approach across the river. The new bridge over the Inn is planned in the immediate vicinity of the existing, listed stone bridge. The design responds with a clear, monolithic formal language that carefully approaches the historic ensemble without competing with it. Materiality and tectonics are central themes of the design: exposed concrete, with finely structured board formwork, as a consistent material brings homogeneous plasticity to the composition and dialogues with the heavily textured masonry of the existing bridge.
