The new Kapfenberg station is a barrier-free, multimodal transport hub and, at the same time, a vital urban connection that extends across four city levels: the main access level in the south, the track level with forecourt and driveway, the north access from the “Hochschwabsiedlung” and the underpass connecting the districts – a light-flooded, bright urban axis between the north and south of Kapfenberg. The connecting underpass provides direct access to the platforms and the northern access point in the “Hochschwabsiedlung” neighborhood.  Transparency, generous geometries, and short distances characterize this new transport station.
