Dornbirn, Austria
2006 - 2008
A new adaptation of a former office building from the Austrian Post: An additional 2 floors were built over the existing 3-floor structure with a light-frame wood construction. The new facility was restored with barrier-free accessibility and with increased thermal performance.
With the increase in height and additional floor space, the building had redefined its urbanistic presence near the Dornbirn Train Station.
The new naturally-ventilated curtainwall façade provided better thermal performance, solar shading, and a new geometry, as a more strict monolithic structure.
