BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

New construction for a single cargo rail line bridge over the rhine river, located at the austrian / swiss
border, between lauterach austria) and st. margrethen (switzerland). A total of 7 loadbearing frames connected to pile-supported abutment piers comprise the base structure. The main framework utilizes a bowstring composite arch at both sides of the bridge with a central connection above, spanning a total of 102m, with the height of the arch at 20m over the supporting deck. The bowstring beams are comprised mainly of steel with cast-in-place reinforced concrete beam supports, with a reinforced concrete deck under the rails for lateral stability. The total length of the bridge is 275m.
